Biography

Hi, I am a second year PhD student in statistics at Virginia Tech, where I get trained for rigorous statistical theory and state-of-the-art machine learning method. I think data science is a modern name for statistics, what lies at the heart of them is how to collect and analyze data in order to answer important scientifical questions. As a statistician or data scientist, my goal is to understand how data are generated and should be collected, how to choose and build models to analyze them, so we can explain what we have seen, predict what we will see and act what serves the best in this complex world.

At my leisure time, I like reading, running and hiking.
